Nestled within the vineyards and wineries, and often, not that far from the historic Adelaide city, you’ll find a wide range of retreats on offer. Everything from yoga and meditation, detoxes, spirituality or simple spa indulgence, here’s a round up of just a few.
Just 45 minutes from Adelaide, you’ll find yourself at the Tara Hill Retreat Centre where they hold Lifeflow meditation retreats, with specific focus topics held on set dates.
You’ll be able to enjoy 65 acres of land, where the owners are in the process of naturally rejuvenating native trees and grasses.
Accommodation is basic, yet comfortable, and depending on the retreat you choose, you’ll find greater fulfillment or nurture new directions.

Kangaroo Island Health Retreat
Kangaroo Island is located just 16km off the mainland of South Australia. Their emphasis is on detoxing and rebooting your health, with their Dynamic Detox program.
This program allows you to de-stress, cleanse and start over with your health, with 7 days of dry skin brushing, saunas, yoga, pilates, meditation, plus massages, cooking demonstrations and time to head for the beach or a walk. Meals are a little different here, with a tonic paste for lunch, fruit for afternoon tea, and nourishing soup for dinner. And that’s basically it.
It is a little extreme perhaps, but they do claim that it can help with a wide range of conditions. There are a few restrictions though. You do need to be aged between 18 and 59, with reasonable fitness levels.
