Is this the Yoga Retreat for You?

If you’re asking yourself which yoga retreat is the best for you, you might like to see this guest post from Jill Mentiplay of Little Farm of Calm, host and facilitator of the Weekend Wellness & Relaxation Retreats.

We’ve created a unique yoga & wellness retreat that is easy, accessible and comfortable for people from all walks of life. A relaxation retreat where people can come to unwind and decompress, hang by the pool, try something new, sleep or spend time in whatever way feels right. You’ll find us in the beautiful Yorta Yorta country of North East Victoria, set on three acres of unpretentious rural landscape, 3km from Benalla, with 12 miniature goats and 3 spectacular studios. This includes Victoria’s largest yoga and meditation dome, a hot yoga studio with infrared & underfloor heating (it’s like a hot bath) and a unique garden sunset studio. Our health retreat packages also feature a 75m2 heated magnesium salt pool with red light therapy and infrared sauna sessions to turbocharge your wellness experience. In short, there are plenty of options for how to spend your time – whether you prefer to keep busy, or if you’d rather chill out and recharge.

We have a range of yoga, meditation and pilates to choose from, led by teachers with over 20 years of experience. Our intention is that you pick the right options and amount for your body, with a selection to suit all different moods & energy levels. Yes, you can eat healthy organic produce – but you put it together in the way that works best for your body and your needs. Yes, there are lots of activities to choose from  – but you don’t have to do them all. Yes, you can get out and explore the countryside – but again you don’t have to. You literally have all the options – without any pressure. Our goal is that you feel refreshed and rejuvenated by the end of your stay. Because this retreat is all about you.

So what are the eco-friendly cabins like?  Will you be staying in a room straight out of the Park Hyatt with a giant soaking tub looking out over the Pacific Ocean,  or a rustic tent in a paddock?  No, neither of these, but we think what we’ve got is pretty damn special. In fact, we went to a lot of trouble to source mining ‘donga’ cabins to reduce our carbon footprint and provide unique, soundproofed, well-insulated, hurricane proof and ultra-energy-efficient buildings that will stand the test of time and weather.  We then fitted them out with high-quality technology, fabulous linens, toiletries, extra comfy beds and block-out curtains – so you get some amazing sleep and a comfortable place to hang out, without the giant price tag, huge environmental footprint OR risk of being blown away in the middle of the night.

With 10 cabins in total, we keep our wellness retreats small, focus on the details and allow you to enjoy your private space. We provide plenty of individual attention in our classes (where appropriate), which are designed to support all levels – if you have questions on any of the provided options in our health retreats, please reach out as we are here to help.

Lastly, by staying with us you are supporting the Little Farm of Calm Wildlife Shelter – which we run without government support to rescue, treat and rehabilitate native Australian wildlife.

Fingers crossed, this means you enjoy your yoga weekend knowing that you’ve done good things for both yourself and the fluffy locals.

We hope to see you soon.
