Are you ready for a deep dive into the spiritual side of meditation?
Meditation for spiritual growth is arguably the topic of most confusion. What does ‘spiritual’ mean? This is determined by what view of reality you hold, either consciously or unconsciously (usually the latter).
Different traditions have looked at this question and we have the option of mindlessly subscribing to any one of several traditional and modern views, or honestly examining which parts of each viewpoint makes sense to us; and from there discern our own path to spiritual fulfilment!
On this retreat, we will guide you through the different ways that meditation can be used to transcend the every day and the ordinary. By examining the understanding of consciousness and spiritual growth in some of the main faiths available to us today, in both their traditional and modern forms: Buddhism, Christian mysticism, Vedanta and Neuro-dharma. More importantly, we will learn how meditation and other practices, derived from these different views contribute to spiritual growth.
The aim of the retreat is not to convince you of any viewpoint, but to help you become clear about what spiritual practice is for you, and how meditation and other practices can help you on your way.
You will also enjoy a week where everything is taken care of including delicious vegetarian food, gentle yoga, deep relaxation, guided meditations, and quiet walks in nature with plenty of time for you to rest and restore your energy.
