We begin our time together on Saturday morning at the lovely Old Kirk for our first yoga class together. We will warm ourselves up slowly with gentle sun salutations, we will yield and radiate through standing postures and you will be introduced to the base chakra. I use divine essential oils throughout the class to add an extra element to your practice. This class will also include plenty of time for pranayama – the use of breath to promote the flow of prana (life force).
After class we will all wander up the hill (it’s walking distance) to our beach house for our shared brunch. Take your time to chat with fellow guests and enjoy a healthy plant based meal together.
The middle of the day is free for you to do as you please. Spend the day at one of the amazing beaches, treat yourself to a massage, wander the shops and cafes or simply snuggle down with a good book.
We will meet again in the evening for our next class together. The evening class is always more calming with a gentle warm up followed by some yin and restorative postures. Again we’ll enjoy essential oils and adjustments. Afterwards we will practice ‘trataka’ a candle gazing meditation.
After the class your take home meal of kitcheri will be ready for you. This delicious Ayurvedic meal will be served with condiments such as relishes, gomasio (sesame salt) and fresh herbs.
I encourage you to have an early night and no doubt a restful sleep.
The following morning we will meet again at the Old Kirk for our Sunday morning class. This class will a begin with sun salutations, then a focus on heart opening postures. These gentle back bending postures awaken the body and refresh the mind. This session will also include a yoga Nidra to deeply rest the body.
Finally, we will share a cup of herbal tea and a slice of wholesome cake together on our yoga mats to finish off. This is the perfect time for a chat, questions or comments you may have.
