When we think of Hinterland we imagine overlooking green hills and valleys, the ocean in shimmering distance, stunning expansive farmlands, inhaling endless fresh air, winding down in front of cosy fireplaces. Set on a hill in the Hinterland of Tweed Heads in Northern NSW, less than 20min drive from the coast, the renovated old winery ‘Hillside Carool’ has all of this and on top a pool surrounded by boasting rows of grape vines. It’s the venues elevated position that creates a feeling of space and the scale of the property itself. With a dedicated attention to detail, the owners created a space that invites to connect and to wander at the same time.

Elaine cultivates a Pilates experience that allows to tune into our bodies, uncovering and balancing out muscle imbalances, replenishing body awareness and accessing areas that need extra nourishment through movement. In her unique classes, Elaine is bringing together her puzzle pieces of over 12 years pilates, physiotherapy and personal training. Experience improved alignment, posture, stability, mobility and deep strength. Each day of our retreat will be opened with a dynamic Pilates session, focusing on strength through core, hip, leg and arm muscles. We close each day with a restorative Pilates flow to lengthen and stretch.
\ rejuvenate MASSAGES BY THE CALMM
The CALMM is passionate about healing through intuitive touch and has a strong believe in massage therapy as a means to de-stress, balance energy, increase focus and find clarity, while releasing areas of chronic pain and muscle tension, allowing for increased circulation, mobility and optimum health.
Using bespoke blends of therapeutic grade essential oils to support relaxation and evoke a feeling of total bliss, The Calmm massages use acupressure on specific meridians in the body to stimulate the healing journey, focus on key energy points and enable deep relaxation. Benny, the co-founder of Sol House Studio, is a certified Wim Hof Method Instructor and Oxygen Advantage Advanced Instructor. With an extensive knowledge from these methods and his work in emergency situations, he will guide through a unique breath work and ice bath experience, that will change our relationship to breathing and cold exposure.
A deep session of learning, understanding, feeling and exploring on how to utilise oxygen and cold exposure to optimise functions of our body and mind and how to influence stress, fear and deep happiness. Through breath work and ice baths, Benny creates an incredible safe space, designed to tap into our deeply held emotions that our conscious body often blocks from allowing us to work through.
\ nourish BY YUI YAMASHITA
With her roots in Japan, Yui’s food philosophy is about holistic nourishment for body, mind and soul. Using organic high quality ingredients, making things from scratch and drawing wisdom from her Japanese culture and studies of macrobiotics, traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic principles, she brought Uchimama to life, a Sydney based private chef service.
Our retreat breakfast, lunch and dinner follows macrobiotic and Ayurvedic principles where Yui will merge organic, local, seasonal, plant based whole food ingredients with the knowledge of yin and yang to bring balance and longevity to our bodies, harmony to our minds, and gratitude to our souls. We will experience eating with a deeper connection to the environment, take a break from processed heavy food and will dive into some inspiration by Yui, how to create delicious meals and refreshments once returning from the retreat.

We often get stuck in the daily grind without having a minute to breathe, enjoy, reflect, reorientate. When our bodies show us with fatigue, illness and other signs a red flag, it is time to make space and time to realign.
This retreat allows us to step away from our daily responsibilities and see ourselves, each other, our assumptions, actions and environment with a wider lens and a different perspective. It moves us from status quo into a fresh and rewarding new way of being.
This retreat is an inclusive event for all levels of age, gender and experience in retreats and activities. Everything we do is based on no pre requisites, no judgement, no competition, no necessary experience in Pilates, breath work or ice baths.
It’s for you to explore different ways of self care, recovery and time off. All parts of our retreat are well guided through, very easy to explore and still optional to participate. If you feel stuck, need some change, need to talk, we are always happy to assist with anything to make this the most amazing experience for you.
