Find the Story of your Life and the Life in your story
Writes of Passage runs writing retreats held at their NSW Writers Centre, set in the tranquil surrounds of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. They do offer online courses but their residential writing courses offer a complete package of nourishing meals, writing activities, feedback, support, and a private room to stay.
The writing space is designed to assist you in the writing process. It includes sustainable bamboo flooring, with rugs for extra warmth, houseplants, and candlelight. You’ll have time where you’re left undisturbed, with access to warm drinks, while you work through the exercise. When you’re not at the desk working you’ll have the option to sit out in the open admiring the bush, make use of the floor lounge and cushions to lie down on and ponder ideas.
The How to Write your Own Story Retreat
If you’re thinking about writing about your childhood or exploring life story writing, then here’s good place to start. This retreat can help you create a foundation to build a memory, to undertake personal development through writing, and to write about a childhood trauma.
You’ll celebrate the gifts your childhood brought, cultivate gratitude, and look at where you can foster more of the healthy traits of the child into your life. It involves a deep level of personal reflection and contemplation that is stimulated by readings, writing exercises, short videos, and much more.
You’ll have mentoring sessions at the end of the day, to offer objective insights into your learnings and to help you synthesise everything.
