You know that feeling when a trip has been sitting in the back of your mind for years? This is the one. Sri Lanka is wild, warm and endlessly photogenic – and travelling it with a small group of women who are just as up for the 5am hikes as the lazy beach afternoons changes everything.
Over fourteen days you’ll climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress at dawn, share a home-cooked lunch in a local village, witness the sacred Temple of the Tooth in Kandy and walk through working tea estates on the Pekoe Trail. You’ll ride one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world through the hill country to Ella, search for leopards and elephants on a jeep safari in Yala and unwind on the golden sand of Mirissa.
This is fourteen days of real adventure, woven through with the kind of moments you’ll be telling your friends about for years.
This is a genuinely small group – a maximum of twelve women, hosted personally by me from start to finish. We travel together with one English-speaking national guide, one driver and one driver assistant for the entire fourteen days, so there’s continuity, familiarity and someone who knows the island looking after every detail.
This trip is open exclusively to women aged 18 and over. It includes some genuinely active days – the Sigiriya climb, the Pekoe Trail walk and a pre-dawn 9km hike to World’s End – alongside plenty of slower, restorative time on the coast. If you’re reasonably comfortable walking and managing stairs, you’ll be absolutely fine.
